a typical day with one sweet surprise!

Today started out just like any other day. no big plans. no money to go out and do something lavish. Ever have those days where everyone just wakes up on the right side..if you know what i mean?  today was one of those..and did I ever appreciate it:) The last week has been a lot colder than the few weeks before it, which makes being cooped up inside even harder! Spring is such a tease! 80 degrees - 40 degrees in a matter of days is maddening.  needless to say this morning we woke to a beautiful blue sky and no wind! YAY!!  Brig and I tossed a few ideas around as to what would be a fun activity for the day.  He really really really wanted to head to the zoo but after the week we had had i was a little spectical on weather this wonderful clear weather would last long.  We talked about maybe going to the library and then going for a walk/jog, but decided to throw out all the above and head for Zorinsky! Zorinsky lake is approximately 10 minutes from our house. No it is not an lake in my book of definitions but here in Nebraska  they definitely claim it is..so whatever. It is  one of the things I actually enjoy about Omaha.  Its a really small lake with a bike/running trail that goes all the way around it, not to mention the play areas. I think there are two or three and a newly added water park on one corner!
So to end my babbling, after brig finally finished his lunch (I saw finally because any of you who know Brig know every meal takes anywhere from 30 min- 3 hours to finish! Its in sane..) and gray woke from his afternoon nap we loaded in the car for an afternoon of slides swings and hopefully sunshine.  Seth's sister joy and her husband and baby girl came along as well. It is so nice having someone around to do things with!
Our surprise came after about an hour of playing when seth called..and YAY he had gotten out of a meeting early and was done for the day!!!! When I told Brig daddy was coming to play his little eyes about popped out of his head in excitement. I LOVE how much my little boys love their daddy, and it breaks my heart that they dont get the time with him that they crave, so this little perk in our day was HUGE! we all loved having seth there with us. We appreciate how hard he works and studies to one day provide a secure lifestyle for us but man oh man we miss him sometimes!

this crazy face was this morning when we checked the weather and he found out there was going to be lots of playing outside. he is such a goof, and although his terrible two phase is not quite at an end there arent many days if any in the week that go by that I dont thank my father in heaven for blessing me with this big hearted little stinker..over the last three years he has been my anchor through so much change, heart ache, and trial. He always knows when mommy needs a hug and a kiss, and i love him more than words can tell!

Briggy Boy eating up every minute of Dad playng with us at the park!

This one is for papa! He definitely has the coordination down dad.. do you see that hole he was digging?! my favorite thing about this is his tongue stinking out due to complete focus and concentration!
Oh and my baby Gravy. seriously has there ever been a happier baby? He lights up at the sight of just about anyone:) He definitely knows he is loved..especially by Brig.. i love watching them love and play together.

aahhh he is so YUMMY:) p.s. he is wearing a beanie because it was a little breezy and his ears are sensitive to the wind..random to see when everyone else is in tee shirts and there is bright green grass behind him!
I dont even know what to say about this picture besides..I could eat him up..seriously he is delicious:)

SO CUTE!! That was fun to go to the park! The closest park to our house is nicknamed "Stink Lake" park... it seriously does stink. Miss you! Hope I can see you soon. I was just thinking the other day about when we used to clean motel rooms and we would go lay by the pool for hours after we were done. MISS YOU!!
