backwards...

Why is it that babies crawl backwards before going forward? At least with my boys, this is a common occurrence. Despite being completely discontent to sit and roll from point A to point B Gray does pretty well at getting to where he wants to be around the house. The last two or three weeks however he has gotten EXTREMELY IRRITABLE at the inability to run along side Brig.  He has become an avid growler during his frustration and has patented the scrunched face and fists act. He absolutely kills me:) In a desperate attempt to move with more speed he has adopted the backward scoot/crawl. its actually quite cute. Just picture a seal or beached whale doing a belly dance backwards and you pretty much can envision our little Gravy in action! it has surprisingly been working well for him but sooner or later he always ends up either in a corner or like this..

Now you can imagin the poor little guys disgust when all that hard work and effort only gets him into a situation like this.  Its all most a little heart breaking to see him hang his head and cry in defeat after he was so proud of himself for being mobile.  Then again..It is all too humorous to see your little man hung up on such large and immovable obsticale.

One day soon enough baby boy you will be on your feet running..

and that one day is coming a bit too soon for me I'm afraid

not ready for this!

Gray has started pulling himself up to things! most days he isnt very good at holding on once he is up but he sure does get excited! He is such a goer and we know that it wont be long until he is running circles around the rest of us..we may be in trouble:) In fact i am beginning to think he may not even crawl, i am thinking he may go straight to running. at least i am sure thats what he has in mind:) so proud of my little man but a little sad at 7 months he is already over being our baby.

out of CONTROL

Of course I am referring to Brigs hair! i have no idea how so much time went by between hair cuts? oh well! At least it made for lots of funny comments from him..ex/ "mom you gave us fire hair!" (comment from the bath after i had washed their hair and it was standing straight up) ex/ "mom am i a porcupine?" (after rubbing gel through it for church and before i combed it down) ex/ me:" wow bugs you are super sweaty &  you need a hair cut!" brig: "no mom! I like to look like an orphan" like i said good for a laugh..even if it was unruly:)

I took these this morning while they were being silly together. nothing lifts my heart more than the sound of these two laughing and being goofy boys;)  ...Also notice bugs hair? I finally stuck to my guns and cut it last night. He wasn't too pleased:)

Bottom of my barrel

Every once in a while i seem to get a little lost in self pitty thinking Medical school is gonna be the death of me!  even though i am just a supporter of all this education and not the one actually racking my brain 24 hrs a day,  this process has been emotionally straining on me to say the least.  Most days/weeks/months i do fine but as a typical part things some times this life feels a little to lonely, sometimes no matter how many times I pray in a day that void of needing someone close to do things with, have adult conversation with is still there. I do however continually find comfort in prayer, whether it is just the constant reminder i get from my father in heaven that he understands my feelings, that he loves me, or the huge blessing i have of a wonderful husband (who brought me home these beauties!)
that when he can (and by when he can i mean not obligated to be at the hospital) does all he can to make up for my lack of friends here and although all he ever wants to do after a 34 hour shift is sleep..he will somehow find the energy to go for a walk with me and the boys or take me out on the town..i am so lucky to have him! It is amazing to me how raising children and keeping a family strong while in Medical school often seems like a death wish, but at the end of the day it ALWAYS is a greater blessing.  I dont know how i would survive without my two babies. Sure i might actually be able to get a job and meet people and make friends that way but no friend is gonna give me monkey hugs while i cry on a bad day, and i know for a fact NO friend is going to cuddle with me when im to nervous/freaking myself out to sleep at night when seth is on call! haha I just realized i totally contradicted myself but oh well...if you dont get my point at least you got to see my beautiful flowers:)
